The Trump-Bannon Revolution of disruption, chaos and destruction (3)

Santa Claus seems to be wavering where to deliver his presents first: Middle East or USA. To some, this might be another episode of Good Santa versus Bad Santa (IMDb). Both Christmas presents seem geared towards disruption, chaos and destruction. I wonder which Santa is quicker.

On 20 May 2017, Trump and Bannon visited Saudi Arabia for an official visit (CNN). Trump's son-in-law made several (unannounced and/or secret) trips to Saudi Arabia (eg, Haaretz, Newsweek, Politico). Others made similar (unannounced and/or secret) trips to Saudi Arabia: the Palestinian president and Lebanon's prime minister, who briefly resigned during that visit.

On 21 June 2017, Saudi Arabia suddenly appointed a new Crown Prince while removing the one appointed only 2 years ago (eg, Brookings, NewsweekWEWiki). In November 2017, "a number of prominent Saudi Arabian princes, government ministers, and business people were arrested in Saudi Arabia in November 2017 following the creation of an anti-corruption committee led by [the new] Crown Prince" (Wiki).

On 3 December 2017, the NYT reports on a Saudi Arabia peace plan that has disturbed the Middle East for some time. NYT: "According to Palestinian, Arab and European officials who have heard Mr. Abbas’s version of the conversation, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman presented a plan that would be more tilted toward the Israelis than any ever embraced by the American government, one that presumably no Palestinian leader could ever accept."

On 29 November 2017, almost simultaneously, George Friedman's GeoPolitical Futures reports that Iran "faces a potential coalition of Saudi Arabia, Israel and Turkey" and concludes that "the Middle East has a new and radically different shape" (GPF).

Clearly, Iran feels threatened by these developments. On 1 November 2017, Iran warned the USA that Iran's ballistic missiles can hit US targets in the Middle East (eg, Express, Independent). Late November 2017, Iran threatened Europe to "increase ballistic missile range so they can reach Europe" (eg, MetroTelegraph).

These Iranian threats probably relate to the (potential) European and US support to Saudi Arabia's peace plan. Wherever they go, the Trump-Bannon Revolution leaves a trail of disruption, chaos and destruction. See part 1 and part 2 of my related blogs.

Robert MuellerSpecial Counsel for the investigation of the Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections, seems to be closing in on the innermost circle of the 45th President (eg, CNN). This threat should explain the increasingly erratic behaviour of the 45th President.

Trump may be widely considered as a weak and ineffective 45th President but Trump - and Bannon - are immensely effective in their mission of creating disruption, chaos and destruction all around the world (eg, Europe, Middle East, NATO, South-East Asia, UK and US taxes).
